Our History
Custom Packaging was founded in 1967 by Dick Lindsey, Bob Werckle and Lawrence West, all former employees of Container Corporation of America in Nashville. Each had many years of experience in the industry: Mr. Lindsey’s background was in administration; Mr. Werckle’s in sales, and Mr. West’s in production. Their diversified areas of expertise enabled them to start a company from scratch and rapidly grow. By 1972, business had expanded enough to mandate a second plant - this facility would be located in Asheville, North Carolina.

By the end of the 1980s, CPI recognized a growing trend in high graphics and display, and began investing in personnel and equipment to grow this niche - a move that proved very successful. Out of this division evolved a natural progression to offering packaging fulfillment and assembly services to their growing customer base.
